Security Check Instructions
I.Certificates for domestic flights
In accordance with relevant regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration, valid ID certificates and boarding credentials are required for domestic flights. Types of valid ID certificate are as follow:
1. Mainland residents
(1) ID card; Temporary ID card; Passport; Seafarer's passport.
(2) Valid certificates for residents under 16 also include: medical certificate of birth, household registration permit, student's ID card, or other identity certificate issued by the household registered public security bureau.
(3) For passengers with expired or damaged ID certificates or unable to present their ID certificates, the following documents or certificates are accepted:
a. The Temporary Identity Certificate or Certificate of Household Registration issued by public security bureau with a recent certificate photo, special seal and validity period.
b. The Receipt of ID card application issued by public security bureau with a recent certificate photo, special seal for household registration and validity period.
c. The Temporary Identity Certificate for Civil Aviation Transportation or its electronic version with a recent certificate photo and validity period issued by airport public security bureau.
2. Public security and military personnel
Military officer certificate; Military civilian cadres certificate;Conscripted military personnel certificate;Soldier certificate;Military civilian staff certificate;Military staff card;Armed police officer certificate;Armed police certificate.
3. Residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan
Mainland travel permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents; Mainland travel permit for Taiwan residents; Residence permit for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents.
4. Foreign personnel
(1) Passport; Foreign permanent resident card; Diplomatic personnel certificate, administrative and technical personnel certificate, personnel certificate of international organizations, residence permit issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China; Travel permit.
(2) The Passport Loss Certificate or Acceptance Receipt of Foreigner's Visa Application with a recent certificate photo and validity period issued by the exit-entry administration department of public security bureau for overseas passengers (foreign passengers, passengers of Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan) who lost ID certificate or cannot provide valid certificates due to delayed application.
5. Other valid identity certificates accepted by the Civil Aviation Administration of China can be used.
6. The same certificate should be used for check-in and security check procedures.
II.Provisions on items to be carried and consigned
1. Items that are banned in hand and checked luggage
(1) Guns and other weapons (including major parts and components)
Devices that can fire ammo (including pills and other objects) or may cause serious injuries, or items that can be mistakenly regarded as such devices, including:
A. Military guns and guns for official duties, such as pistols, rifles, submachine guns, machine guns, anti-riot guns;
B. Civilian guns, such as compressed air guns, shotguns, sport guns, tranquilizer guns;
C. Other types of firearms, such as prop guns, starting guns, ball guns, guns from overseas and all types of illegally-manufactured guns;
D. Imitation products of the above items.
*Notes: Items that do not belong to imitated guns or do not meet the standard for gun identification and bullet crafts that are not hazardous can be transported as checked baggage. Toys that are clearly different from guns and do not lead to misunderstandings can be transported as luggage.
(2) Explosive or inflammable substances and devices
Explosive or inflammable devices (substances) that can cause severe injuries or pose danger to the aircraft, items that can be mistaken for such devices (substances), including:
A. Ammunition, such as bombs, grenades, flares, napalm bombs, smoke bombs, signal rockets, tear shells, gas bombs, bullets (including plumbs, blank ammunition, training bullets);
B. Explosive materials, such as dynamites, detonators, fuses, initiators, blasting fuses, detonating fuses, blasting agents;
C. Pyrotechnic objects, such as fireworks and crackers, smoke pads, yellow smoke, firework bombshell;
D. Imitation products of the above items.
(3) Controlled instruments
Controlled instruments that can cause personal injuries or endanger aviation safety and transportation, including:
A. Controlled knives, such as daggers (single-edged, double-edged or multi-edged knife with a sharp point, handle, pommel and fuller, blade angle<60 degree), triangular scrapper (knife for machining with three blades), flick knife with self-locking device (the extended for flicked blade can be fixed by the spring or lock in the handle), other similar single-edged, double-edged or triangular sharp knives (single-edged, double-edged or multi-edged knives longer than 150mm with blade angle<60 degree) and single-edged, double-edged or multi-edged knives longer than 220mm with blade angle>60 degree.
B. Military and police gear, such as clubs, police shock machine, military or police daggers, handcuffs, thumb-cuffs, shackles, tear injectors.
C. Other controlled instruments stipulated by the national regulations, such as crossbow.
*Notes: Tibetan knives, waist knives and boot knives worn and used by ethnic minorities due to their living habits are controlled knives, which can only be sold and used in ethnic autonomous regions. As Chengdu is not a part of an ethnic autonomous region, the above instruments cannot be carried or consigned at Tianfu International Airport.
(4) Hazardous materials
Hazardous materials that may cause injuries or pose danger to aviation safety and transportation, including:
A. Compressed or liquefied gas, such as hydrogen, methane, ethane, buthane, natural gas, ethylene, propylene, acetylene (dissolved in medium), carbon monoxide, LPG, freon, oxygen, carbon dioxide, water gas, lighter fuel and liquefied gas for lighter;
B. Pyrophorus, such as yellow phosphorus, white phosphorus, nitrocellulose (including film rolls), oiled paper and related products;
C. Materials that are highly inflammable when wet by water, such as potassium, sodium, lithium, calcium carbide, magnesium aluminum powder;
D. Inflammable liquid, such as petrol, kerosene, diesel, benzene, ethanol (alcohol), acetone, diethyl ether, oil paint, thinner, retinol and products with inflammable solvent;
E. Inflammable solid, including red phosphorus, flashlight powder, solidified alcohol, celluloid, foaming agent;
F. Oxidizing agent and organic peroxides, such as potassium permanganate, potassium chlorate, sodium peroxide, potassium peroxide, lead peroxide, peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide;
G. Toxic substance, such as cyanide, arsenic, highly toxic pesticide and other highly toxic chemicals;
H. Erosive substance, such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, mercury;
I. Radioactive substance, such as radioactive isotopes, etc.
(5) Other substances
Substances that may cause injuries or endanger aviation safety and transportation, including:
A. Pathogen of contagions, such as HBV, bacillus anthracis, mycobacterium tuberculosis, HIV;
B. Kindling material (including ignition devices), such as lighter, match, cigar lighter, magnesium anode (flintstone);
C. Power bank and lithium battery with rated energy larger than 160WH (lithium battery powered electric wheelchairs are otherwise specified);
D. Alcoholic beverage with more than 70% alcohol;
E. Items with strong magnetization, strong pungent smell, or items prone to panicking passengers, and items with unknown nature that may be dangerous.
(6) Other items whose transportation is banned by the state law, administrative laws and regulations.
2. Items that are banned in hand luggage but are allowed in checked luggage
(I) Sharp instrument
Instrument with sharp edges or points, and are made of metal or other materials hard enough to cause serious personal injury, mainly including:
A. Daily use knives (with the blade length of more than 6cm), such as kitchen knives, fruit knives, scissors, art knives and paper cutters;
B. Professional use cutters (with unlimited blade length), such as scalpels, butcher knives, carving knives, planers, milling cutters;
C. Swords, spears, swords and halberds used for martial arts performance.
(2) Blunt instrument
Items without edges or sharp points, and are made of metal or other materials with enough strength to cause serious personal injury, mainly including: Sticks (including telescopic bars and nunchakus), clubs, billiards clubs, cricket rackets, hockey clubs, golf clubs, alpenstocks, ski poles, knuckle-dusters;
(3) Others
Other items that can cause injuries or pose great harms to aviation safety and transportation order, including:
A. Tools, such as drill machines (including bits), chisel, cones, saws, bolt guns, nail guns, screwdrivers, crowbars, hammers, pliers, welding guns, wrench, axes, hatchet, vernier caliper, ice picks, ice cones;
B. Other items, such as dart, slingshots, bows, arrows and buzzers self-defense devices; electric shock devices, Mace gas, tear gas, pepper spray, acid spray, animal removing spray, etc. not controlled by the state.
3. Items that are conditionally allowed in hand luggage but unconditionally allowed in checked luggage
(1) For international and regional flights, the liquid items shall be carried in containers with a volume of no more than 100ml. Meanwhile, the containers shall be placed in transparent plastic bags with a maximum volume of no more than 1L and that can be resealed. Each passenger is allowed to carry only one transparent plastic bag at a time, and the excess part shall be consigned as baggage;
(2) For domestic flights, liquid items are not allowed (except for cosmetics, toothpastes and shaving cream for self-use during air travel). The cosmetics for self-use during air travel must meet three conditions synchronously (only one for each kind, placed in a container with a volume of no more than 100ml, and subject to bottle opening inspection) before they can be carried with you. The limit for toothpaste and shaving cream is one for each kind and no more than 100g (ML). When a passenger transfers from an international or regional flight to a domestic flight in the same airport control area, the duty-free liquid items carried by him/her into the airport must meet three conditions synchronously (with receipt or invoice, putting them in a sealed and intact transparent plastic bag, and be confirmed by safety inspection). If he/she leaves the airport control area during the transfer to a domestic flight, he/she must consign the duty-free liquid items brought into China as luggage;
(3) Necessary liquid dairy products for infants and patients with diabetes or other diseases during air travel can be carried with them only after inspection;
(4) The liquid items purchased or obtained by passengers in the airport control area or aircraft can be carried with them before leaving the airport control area.
Notes: "liquid items" refer to liquids, gels, aerosols, and any other items in liquid state, including but not limited to: water, beverages, soups, syrups, stews, sauces; ointments, lotions, cosmetics and oils; perfumes; sprays; gels such as hair gel and shower gel; high-pressure canned items such as shaving foam, other foams and deodorants (such as aerosols); toothpaste and other paste-like items; solidified mixture; mascara; lip gloss or lipstick; or any other items with similar viscosity at room temperature.
4. Items that are banned in hand luggage but are conditionally allowed in checked luggage
(1) Alcoholic beverages are prohibited to be carried with passengers, but can be consigned as luggage with the following restrictions;
A. It shall be well identified and placed in the retail container which shall not exceed 5L in volume each
B. When the content of alcohol is less than or equal to 24%, the quantity will not be limited;
C. When the content of alcohol is more than 24%, less than or equal to 70%, the quantity shall not exceed 5L.
5. Items that are banned in checked luggage but are conditionally allowed in hand luggage
Power banks and lithium batteries are prohibited to be consigned as luggage and are subject to the following restrictions when carried with passengers (excluding the lithium batteries for electric wheelchairs)
(1) Lithium battery and lithium battery-powered electronic devices:
A. The rated energy of the lithium-ion batteries must not exceed 160Wh and the lithium contained in the battery pack must not exceed 8 grams. Battery pack that exceeds the above standard must be transported according to relevant specifications.
B. Portable electronic devices(such as watches, calculators, cameras, mobile phones, laptops, video cameras, electronic baggage tags) with lithium batteries are subject to the following restrictions when carried with passengers:
a. Portable electronic devices permitted to be carried aboard by passengers or the flight crew shall be for personal use only.
b. Portable electronic devices are suggested to be placed in the carry-on baggage. If carried in checked baggage, measures must be taken to prevent unintentional activation and to protect from damage, and the device must be completely switched off (not in sleep mode).
c. For a single lithium battery, lithium contained in the battery must not exceed 2 grams, and for lithium-ion batteries, rated energy must not exceed 100Wh.
d. Devices powered by the lithium battery with rated energy more than 100Wh and no more than 160Wh must be approved by the airlines.
C. Backup lithium batteries are subject to the following restrictions when carried with passenger:
a. Backup lithium batteries shall be put in the carry-on baggage only.
b. Backup lithium batteries should be well protected, such as by putting them separately into the original packaging, plastic bags or protection bags, or covering exposed electrodes with tapes, so as to avoid short circuit.
c. For single lithium battery, lithium contained must not exceed 2 grams, and for lithium-ion batteries the rated energy must not exceed 100Wh.
d. Battery with rated energy more than 100Wh and no more than 160Wh must be approved by the airlines. Each traveler can carry no more than two packs.
(2) Power bank
A. Power bank with complete and clear label and rated energy no more than 100Wh does not require carriers (airlines) approval; Battery with rated energy more than 100Wh and no more than 160Wh must be approved by the airlines. Each traveler can carry no more than two packs.
B. Power banks are prohibited if they are not clearly marked with specifications or rated energy.
C. Power banks shall not be placed in the checked-in baggage.
D. The calculation for rated energy:
a. Wh = V×Ah
b. If marked with mAh, then the calculation is: Wh = mAh/1000×V.

Notice for Customs Declaration and Prohibition
(i) According to China Customs regulations, the following items are prohibited from entry:
1. Relevant animals and plants in countries and regions where there is an epidemic, and products made of such animals and plants, and other quarantine items;
2. Items listed in the Catalogue of Animals and Plants, and Animal and Plant Products Prohibited from being Carried or Posted into the People's Republic of China including: live animals (except for dogs and cats), (raw or cooked) meat (including organ meat) and meat products, aquatic products, animal derived milk and dairy products, eggs and their products, fresh fruits, vegetables etc;
3. Waste items, radioactive substances prohibited from entry as well as other prohibited items;
4. All varieties of weapons, simulated weapons, ammunition, and explosives;
5. Counterfeit currencies and securities;
6. Printed matters, audiovisual products, storage medium for the computer and other items which are detrimental to the political, economic, cultural and moral interests of China;
7. All varieties of strong poison;
8. Opium, morphine, heroin, Marijuana, and other highly addictive narcotic and psychoactive drugs;
9. Foods, medicines and other items harmful to human and animals, originating from epidemic areas and deemed likely to transmit a contagious disease.
(ii) According to China Customs regulations, the following items shall be declared to the Customs:
1. Inbound: animals, plants, and products made of animals and plants, and other quarantine items;
2. Inbound and outbound: resources of biological species, endangered animals and plants and products made of them;
3. Outbound: wild animals and plants of national priority protection and products made of them;
4. Inbound and outbound: micro-organism, human tissues, biological products, blood, blood products and other special objects;
5. Inbound and outbound: skeletons, ashes, corpses, and coffins;
6. Inbound and outbound: baggage and items originating from epidemic areas or contaminated by a contagious disease or deemed likely to transmit a contagious disease;
7. Items for personal use worth more than RMB 5000;
8. Items worth more than RMB 2000 that non-resident passengers intend to leave in China;
9. Alcohol drinks (containing more than 12% alcohol) more than 1500 ml; cigarettes more than 400; cigars more than 100; or cut tobacco more than 500 g;
10. Cash more than RMB 20,000, or cash in foreign currency equivalent to more than 5000 US dollars;
11. Separately-transported baggage, goods, samples of goods, advertisements;
12. Other items that shall be declared to the Customs.

Notice for Frontier Inspection
Chinese citizens (including residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) shall submit their valid exit/entry documents, boarding pass and valid entry certificates issued by relevant departments.
Foreigners shall submit their valid exit/entry documents, visa, exit/entry registration card and boarding pass, and exit China within the prescribed time limit.

Notice for Port Visa
(i) Conditions for Application:
1. According to "Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China" and relevant provisions, foreigners who need to enter China urgently for humanitarian reasons, or are invited to enter China for urgent business or rush repair work, or have other urgent needs, and hold materials that prove the competent departments' approval of their applying for visas at port, travel agencies that organize inbound tourism in accordance with relevant State regulations may apply for group tourist visas from port visa authorities.
(ii) Approach:
1. Individuals shall apply for a personal port visa after arriving at the port.
2. Tourist agencies shall apply to the port visa granting office for tourists after arrival.
3. Organizing institutions (individuals) shall apply to the local port visa granting office for invitees before arrival;
4. Applications on behalf of foreigners shall be transferred by administrative departments of prefecture-level city governments and governmental agencies with higher level of authority.

Epidemic Prevention and Control Notice
1. In order to strictly implement the latest epidemic prevention and control requirements at national, provincial and municipal level, Tianfu International Airport has set up epidemic prevention and control checkpoints at all entrances and exits. All passengers entering and leaving the terminal are requested to cooperate with anti-epidemic inspection, present the Health Code, scan the Venue QR Code and undergo temperature monitoring. Passengers entering the Tianfu International Airport terminal should keep wearing a mask properly.
2. Due to changes of epidemic situation and medium and high-risk areas, local policies related to epidemic prevention and control may be adjusted at any time according to the actual situation. It is recommended that you contact the airline you are traveling with and the epidemic prevention and control authorities at the origin and destination in advance to understand the latest local epidemic control requirements before departure to avoid any delay.
